Do you make these affiliate marketing mistakes?

If so, check this out…

A lifetime ago, I aspired to join the ranks of pro bodybuilders. I bought a weigh set and started working out at home. My mom was not thrilled. About a year later, I convinced her to let me join a gym.

One of the guys there went to my school. He was strong as an ox. Benched over 300 pounds. Which is a lot of weight for anyone to move. Anyway, he shared with me the common mistakes neophyte weightlifters make. That little talk helped me shortcut the process to building a lean and muscular body.

I got to talking with one guy. A Greek kid one year my elder. He could bench press over 300 pounds at a bodyweight of 165 pounds. What he told me was this: Most beginning bodybuilders simply don’t know what they are doing. They lift too heavy too soon. Drive their bodies into the ground. Then lose all enthusiasm for working out. Because they quickly over train and stifle muscle growth.

Well, I learned from that experience. A few years later, I decided to learn how to make money online. As an affiliate marketer. So I bothered to find out which costly mistakes to steer clear of at all costs.

Here then are the five mistakes most beginning affiliate marketers make…

Mistake #1: Not choosing a big enough niche. Sure niche marketing is all the rage. But if the market you choose is too small forget about it. The best way to choose a market is to see if commercial lists exist. Go to the library. Page through the Standard Rate And Data Service. If a category exists for a market in that book it’s a good bet the market is deep and wide.

A third big mistake is not promoting enough. The fear is that too many promotional emails result in unsubscribes. True. However, most of those unsubscribes were not buyers. They probably never would buy anyway. Make sure you email at least two affiliate promotions per week.

Mistake #3: Not pitching enough. For some reason, a lot of Internet marketers feel you should give away the barn. Not so. Yes, emailing valuable information to your list is important. The real juicy stuff ought to be sold. After all, if you don’t send out enough sales messages you’ll be out of business. One pitch a week is a good number to work with.

Something else: Stop putting all your effort into low priced items. The real money is in the high priced products. Have a mix of both. Put put most of your time and effort into the high ticket stuff. Again, that’s where the money is.

Neglecting offline marketing methods is another way to cut your profits. People still respond best to old fashioned direct mail. Combine online and offline marketing to get the biggest profits possible.

Steer clear of these mistakes and you’ll put the odds of success on your shoulders.

You can boost your web site traffic today day, not tomorrow, today. It doesn’t have to be expensive and if you have got a few funds then by all means out source at sites like E-lancer to get people to do some of the work for you.

Blogging - do you own your own blog? If not you can set one up today for no money at all by using www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com and start getting links to your site. Some of those links will generate their own traffic, so the trick is to get the word out about your post. What do you do is write a post with keywords related to your topic or niche, and then use the ping services to get the word out. Try using www.pingomatic.com and www.pingoat.com that will send your link out to lots of blog directories and sites. Traffic will grow the more you do it.

Forum posting - there is a forum out there for most subjects and you can usually join for free. To find them just search on Google for your keyword plus the word forum. You can’t blatantly promote in your forum post but if you write sensible posts, offer help and advice you are likely to get people check out your site and this can happen for free on the same day.

Write some articles - article writing is one of my favourite ways to generate traffic. You can get longer term traffic but usually a flurry when the article is accepted. Try not to send the same article out each time to the different directories, rewrite them to make them unique. Some will fail, some will be average and some will be superb, so it is a case of not relying on just the one article.

Use Digg - place a snippet of your story or news item on Digg and they list it on their high traffic site within a few hours, often quicker - a great way to get exposure and longer term build your links and longer term traffic.

Email broadcast - you can use some one else’s list if you don’t have your own. Join www.listdotcom.com for example and you can send out an email. To be honest I find responses are low, but better if I offer something for free.

Engage in a joint Venture - you can’t always do it in one day, although with the right contacts you can. If you receive a newsletter from another website in your area of expertise then why not see if you can offer something of interest to them and their readers. Free reports are good or something where the list owner can make a commission on any sales. A good tip is to make sure you collect email addresses as well to build your own list at the same time.

There are no great secrets to affiliate marketing, just create a website for each product you are promoting. Affiliate marketers can join numerous programs and sell other companies products to earn money every day. Many successful people just use a single page site to create the interest needed for the visitor to click on their link. This type of internet business attracts beginners and experienced marketers because you do not even need your own product to promote.

At this point you my not have a good idea what it is you want to sell but this is not as difficult as it seems. You should not be in a rush at this point because you will need to spend time reading and understand the terms and conditions of the company you want to sell products for. Misunderstandings amongst affiliates are common so do not be one of them as it will affect your earning potential. It is not uncommon for there to be restrictions where you can be located to get paid and there have been instances where people have been accepted to programs and not been paid because they do not live in an approved location.

Most affiliate programs pay well but it does depend on their prices to start with; fifty percent is the norm but if you decide to become an Amazon.com affiliate, expect around 5-10 percent (this is worth checking regularly). The most common place to find information on affiliate marketing and products to sell is Clickbank.com There generally is no need to pay for membership of any affiliate program, be very careful of companies that ask for an up front fee. Although you can find programs almost anywhere you look, those that use Paypal or Clickbank for their payments are he best to use and registering with both does not cost anything. There will be time later to use other payment gateways once you have established your affiliate marketing empire.

When you are new at marketing affiliate products there is a great deal to learn, but take heart as there are a huge number of free resources, ebooks and websites, to help just do not try to take in too much at once. Although some free ebooks contain affiliate links so the author is paid for his work, you do not have to click on these if you do not want to. It is easy to start using the free techniques first in the early days and then stat paying for worthwhile programs etc. when you are making some money. This use of free products works well because it is a way for you to see whether the person who supplied them knows what they are doing.

In Summary

Where possible in your affiliate marketing business, use alternative forms of advertising to increase your exposure and direct people to your site that might otherwise have missed it. The purpose behind this is to direct traffic to your website where a certain percentage of people will place an order. By using tracking methods (this is necessary and all affiliate marketers do it) you can decide which advertising methods work and which do not. With affiliate marketing it is easy to work for as many companies as you feel comfortable with. A word of warning: there is also danger of getting bogged down with too much information, this can also be bad or out dated just too make matters worse.

How is the money made? Before you even know how much you can make, it is important to know where the money comes from. Product sales? Recruiting bonuses? Commissions? Fewer large payouts? Many smaller deposits? This is the most important thing for you to find out.

How much can be made? Like Question #1, this is extremely important, and it can be difficult to determine. Sales pitches will always give you the most optimistic results imaginable, so its up to you to sift through the sales shout and consider what is being promised and how they are promising it. Hopefully then you”’ll have a better idea what you can make from this.

How reliable is it? Anyone can promise you a million dollars overnight right. It may even be technically possible, if all the universe aligns at the exact moment you click to sign up, but its not likely. That’s why you must ask this question. This can be a little easier to answer, if you pay attention. Just listen and ask yourself if its realistic. But remember that no matter what, they will tell you that it is.

What do I have to do to become involved or join? This can sometimes be a tricky one too. Expect to be strung along, clicking here and there to access this and that, without much of a solid answer. More of this trickery is a bad thing. The sooner you can find out, the more sure you can be that they aren”’t asking for a firstborn. As soon as you know the answer to these four questions, you will be able to give it some thought and come up with the answer to the most important question of them all.

PPC, or to give it its full name, Pay Per Click has during recent years stormed its way to the front when looking for ways of earning money by advertising on the Internet. It is usually considered to be an inconspicuous way of placing your ads on other people’s websites and on the right hand side of the page of Google Search Results. By clicking on your ad, the reader is taken to your website splashpage, and it is from here that the sale may be made.

The advantage for you is, you place all of your ads for free. However,if a user clicks your ads,you pay an amount for each of those clicks. That amount can range from 10 cents to …20-30$… These ads are predominantly administered by Google AdWords. The ads manifest as sets of words that have been pre-written by you and appear only on webpages where the content is relevant to what you’re selling based on the words you’ve chosen.

Whilst PPC is considered by many Internet marketers to be a goldmine as far as advertising is concerned, there are still some people with Internet based businesses who feel the results could be even better still.

This is where the new form of marketing, Pay Per View (PPV) comes into the equation. Using this method, there is no link to lead the viewer back to your website. Instead, your site appears in front of their eyes exactly when you want it to.

Instead of costing a few bucks per clicked ad, PPV Marketing costs you only pennies to make a far better ROI–and not just in terms of time spent, but clearly in terms of your bottom line, too. With a mere $1, PPV can send you 100 supertargeted visitors, people just waiting to buy from you.

What’s more, you can forget all about needing to compose targeted ads, researching the ten thousand “hot tags” that are floating around and being used by everyone, and taking so many shots in the dark that don’t result in sales but do cost you money…those couple of bucks per click-through do add up quickly. This is not PPC target marketing…this is PPV SUPERTARGETED marketing, and PPV Goldmine shows you all you need to know.Because if you want to succeed, you MUST know what to do.This is where PPV GOLDMINE Ebook comes into action…PPV GOLDMINE,teaches everything you need to know about succesful PPV Marketing! All the program costs you besides mere pennies per ad is $47 one-time–less than you may spend on PPC in just one day.

The substantial amount of income you have always dreamed about from your Internet based business is there for the taking so why not have a look at PPV Goldmine? When used correctly you have nothing to lose and everything to gain with this simple yet powerful way of making your advertising worthwhile.

Working from home can be fun, no doubt about it. For many people it seems to be a daunting task to find work that they can do from home. Once they find it, they then often find themselves at a loss as to how to manage the projects. Here are some tips to keeping your home based business working smoothly no matter what you find as a home based career.

Be a slave driver. You heard right. You must become the very man or woman you wanted to escape from when they were your employer. Newly self-employed folks are usually making the mistake of lacking the direction and guidance they were used to when employed by somebody else.

Stick to your prepared schedule. Do not permit yourself to be lazy. One of the greatest advantages of working from home is the freedom to set up your own hours, being able to do the things you like and work around them. The downside is that you can just as well put off your assignments and watch TV.

When you work for yourself make sure you set reasonable work hours and stick to them. Sure, when emergencies arise: Sally needs a quick ride to her ballet lesson, Johnny has the flu–you can leave your office and take care of things. But do not let little Sally and Johnny do it too often or you won’t get any work done. No work–no pay.

Always be on guard. When you have a home based business you will have to keep your eyes on the next assignment, the next great opportunity, the next customer, depending on the type of business you have started.

It’s easy to get complacent when things are going good and expect that they always will. At those times work at home people often just go with the flow and stop searching new opportunities. That is a big mistake. If the work suddenly dries up, so does your income. If you’re working hard and have plenty of work, you certainly do not want to over burden yourself with more, but always keep an eye toward the horizon.

Always keep on top of where available work is being found. If online sales are your thing and you’re making your fortune on eBay, or one of the other online shops, never stop looking at how others are operating and succeeding, and putting those ideas into action for your own business.

There is money to be made online, but being self-employed and working from home is not for the faint of heart. If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, then get out there and do it. You’ll be working for yourself in no time.

If you are looking for ways to start an internet business, you probably have read all sorts of articles by now. The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t matter where you live in the world, starting an internet business takes a lot of work and persistence.

Way to many people spend much more than is needed in order to get their internet business up and running. You do not need to invest large sums of money. All you need is money for webhosting and some side cash for monthly work.

What are some of the ways you can begin to sell online? You can promote other people’s products, sell on eBay, or even sell your own product. The best model I believe, is to get yourself a website and learn how to promote it.

Placing ads in relevant categories around the internet is also a crucial way to get targeted visitors and sales. When you look around eBay for example, do you normally browse categories that you have no interest in?

Many people want to start their online marketing career by selling their own product. While having your own product is certainly a bonus, it is difficult for newcomers to know how to effectively advertise their website.

Information is a key ingredient when it comes to making sales online. If you can find a market hungry for solutions to their problems, you have a winner. Give people information and you will never run out of sales.

Affiliate marketing is a hot topic nowadays. You could always start your online marketing efforts by promoting a product that someone else owns. This will give you the experience necessary to create your own product and promote it.

You are very likely still confused at this point and that is understandable. What I want you to take away from this article is that internet millionaires do not happen overnight, contrary to popular belief.

One last piece of advice, don’t jump around from one opportunity to the next. This is one of the main reasons why so many people give up hope. It takes time to get something going and that is why you have to stick with one plan.

Pay Per Click or PPC as it is commonly known has recently come to the forefront as a method of earning money through advertising on the Internet. Usually regarded as a subtle way to place your ads on someone else’s website or on the right hand side of the Google Search Results page, such advertisements take the viewer to your own website splashpage, and if all goes according to plan, a sale will be made.

Some Internet marketers have seen PPC (Paye Per Click) as a goldmine…but many others have felt they do not get good results, or could do much better.

The money you are charged on pay per click soon mounts up. Not only this, you need to come up with targeted ads, research thousands of “hot tags”, most of which are being used by all and sundry and then you have to pay out even further by the shots in the dark you take which do not produce any sales whatsoever. With PPV super targeted marketing you can forget about all these things. After all, if you really want to prosper in what you do you MUST know how to do it. This is where PPV GOLDMINE E-book comes into play showing you everything you need to know about becoming successful using PPV marketing. Other than the few pennies per ad the only cost you are faced with is a one time fee of $47. This is less than you are likely to pay in 24 hours using the PPC method.

When PPV is used in the right way it will provide the significant income you have always wanted from your Internet business. You have absolutely nothing to lose so why not take a look at PPV Goldmine? It’s a simple but nonetheless powerful way of making the price of your advertising worthwhile.
